Master Murray

The Maritime Martial Arts Academy was founded by Master Dave Murray in 1990 after returning to his hometown of Fredericton, having studied martial arts in Toronto for 22 years.

Master Murray currently holds a 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and a 7th degree black belt in Hapkido. In total, Master Murray has been training in the Martial Arts for over 35 years.

Currently he is President of the Canadian Hapkido Federation, under Grandmaster Chung Kee Tae, who was trained directly under the founders of both Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido.

Master Murray is a member of the World Kobudo Federation.

Some of Master Dave Murray's accomplishments include:
- 3 times world bronze medal winner in "Police and Fire Games" 1985, 1987, 1989
- 7th dan Black Belt Tae Kwon Do, 6th dan Black Belt Hapkido - black belts in various styles
- Ontario Fighter of the year 1989
- Ontario 2nd place in Forms 1989
- President of Canadian Hapkido association
- Director on the Executive Board for Canadian Amateur Kickboxing
- President of NB Amateur Kickboxing Association, and co-ordinator of Amateur Kickboxing for the Maritimes
- Trained with and became personal friends with many world champions such as Jean Yves Theriault (23 time world kickboxing champion), Bill "superfoot" Wallace, Joe Lewis, Benny "the jet" Urquides, and many more.
